The warmth of fine wooden speakers, in an open-back IEM.
Inspired by zen gardens, Serenity set out to capture the warm, organic resonance of a good pair of wooden loudspeakers. At its heart is Jomo's Duo Chamber Acoustic Coupler (DCAC): two 10mm nanodiamond-coated DLC dynamic drivers and two 6mm nano planar super tweeters, mounted face-to-face in two isolated chambers. Keeping the lowest and highest frequencies apart reduces phase interference and leaves four balanced armatures free to deliver warm, natural mids and clear vocals.
A FlowMax open-back grille lets the dynamic drivers move more air, giving deep, tactile, almost bone-conduction-like bass and a wide, well-separated stage. The shell is CNC-machined from stabilised Arctic hardwood, chosen after testing teak, rosewood, maple and walnut, with an amber-toned chassis and gold-plated brass inlay. It ships with the Adrenalin MK II 4-wire OCC silver-plated copper cable in 4.4mm.
Being open-back, Serenity is best enjoyed in quiet surroundings and with a capable source.
